I like zombies… a lot. I’ve been pretty obsessed with zombies since I saw Vincent Price talking about Night of the Living Dead on a VHS called “Creepy Classics”. Sort of a weird way to be introduced to the living dead but everyone has to start somewhere.

Several years ago I bought the domain ZombieMarathon.com on a whim with the plan to eventually do a zombie-movie-a-day review blog. When I brought this idea up to my girlfriend, Amanda Jean, she said she wanted to be a part of the reviews and the idea for this blog was finalized. Unfortunately since she was living 400 miles away at the time we decided to wait to start the blog. In the meantime I did almost 2 solid months of zombie-movie-a-day live tweeting on my Twitter account. I watched a few amazing zombie films and a ton of horrible zombie films.

AJ and I live together now and we’re ready to rock so this is the start of ZombieMarathon.com! We’ll be reviewing a different zombie film every week or so and giving our personal reactions along with a rating system featuring some zombie movie staples such as “most creative weapon”, “zombie speed” and “best death”.

We’ll be sticking to films that use the more well known Romero-inspired undead zombie  (as opposed to the voodoo zombies from movies such as Bela Lugosi’s White Zombie or other types). We’ll primarily be reviewing movies but we may throw in some books, comics or TV shows as well (both AJ and I are VERY opinionated about The Walking Dead, for instance).

We’ll start very soon with my all-time favorite serious zombie flick Dawn of the Dead.

We’d love to hear your suggestions as to what movies we should be reviewing so please let us know!
